David Wells was born 1977 into an artistic family. He is an eclectic artist having worked professionally as an actor, graphic artist, dancer, web designer, circus and street performer, musician, children’s entertainer and visual artist.
David Wells has exhibited extensively, and has been award over 30 prizes for his art.
His work has been regularly published in international journals, and has featured on the cover of both “The Artists Magazine” (2009) and “The Pastel Journal.” (2009 and 2014)
David Wells believes that a living person is more interesting then any artwork ever made; therefore, everyone is a masterpiece waiting to be painted.
Recently David’s pastel painting, “Alex”, has won an Honorable Mention in the Portrait/Figure category (juried by Mario A. Robinson) of the 17th Annual Pastel 100 Competition. An image of his winning painting is slated to appear in the April 2016 issue of Pastel Journal. His achievement is well-deserved and stood out among approximately 2,300 entries.
He also received notice that his painting, “Alexandra” has been selected for publication in North Light Books’ Strokes of Genius 8: Exploring Texture edited by Rachel Rubin Wolf.
