Brian Tisdall is an artist that has a most wonderful imagination and the ability to take his ideas and turn them into fabulous, whimsical stories. His work is brilliantly colorful and full of its own narrative. A full-time professional artist, Brian lives and paints on the beautiful sunshine coast in Queensland, Australia, and has been painting for most of his life.
Born in Africa, Brian was instilled with a deep and abiding love of nature and the outdoors; which are the major influences on his work that continues today.
Art is a passion that has always drawn Brian back time and again, no matter what his life’s direction has been. Realizing that painting was something he had to do, he became a full-time artist in 1985.
Brian paints in many different styles and mediums, depending on location and circumstance. To him, being an artist is a never-ending journey of discovery, a challenge to visually express the world around him. He chooses to focus on happy and pleasant subjects. It is rewarding when many people find they also enjoy this aspect of his art.
His work has won awards at several regional and local art shows, including Caloundra Arts Festival, Kenilworth Arts Festival, Maroochy Arts Festival, and Darwin Art Show. Brian has painted Murals in Darwin and on the Sunshine Coast, with several examples of his work in Woombye. Brian has also successfully completed community workshops and art projects with Nambour and Maroochy Libraries, Woombye State School, and Woombye Scouts.
Now residing near Nambour with his family, Brian works full time as an artist, painting in oils, watercolours, acrylics, charcoal, and other mediums. He operates his art stall at the Eumundi Markets, does pavement chalk art, and has various outlets for his paintings, which sell interstate and internationally. Brian’s colorful art is in increasing demand.
Although his focus has always been on painting something new, he is happy to accept commissions based on past work and is happy to be contacted to discuss. Brian has opened a Gallery in his little Home Town Nambour. The address is Shop 3, No 7 Howard Street.
