Brian Doyle

Brian Doyle is a very skilled and entertaining cartoonist who has been teaching children to draw cartoons for over 10 years. In this episode Graeme interviews Brian, finding out just how Brian does it.

Brian progressed from drawing down the back of the classroom as a child to the East Sydney College of Art, which used to be the old Darlinghurst Gaol. He found this most ironic, studying the freedom of art in an underground dungeon. Maybe that’s when he started to think like a cartoonist!

He worked in the advertising industry in Brisbane and Sydney, at Myer, Woolworths, MP Advertising and Berry Currie Advertising from where he was headhunted to set up G.J. Coles Queensland advertising operations as the company’s first Qld State Advertising Manager. He later opened his own specialist cartoon oriented advertising agency and still works for selected clients, but his true passion now is working with children in schools.

He is dedicated to do everything he can, to share his skills, experience and enthusiasm for drawing with as many children as possible.

This is one of the very first ones we did years ago when I first started the journey to Colour In Your Life. I even had a different film crew. I hope you enjoy and can see what an amazing journey has happened since. Graeme
