Paula’s background as a watercolour botanical artist shows the intimate detail of her work.
“With the botanical studies I only paint from life to gain the purist understanding of colour, texture, form and light.”
Paula Knight’s work has hung in numerous galleries around New Zealand and has attracted international attention. Paula has exhibited in the Bay of Plenty Garden and Art Fest since its beginnings; both her work and her garden have a distinctive New Zealand native appeal.
Paula Knight has had two series of NZ Flora and Fauna paintings published by an international card company and have featured on magazine covers. Paula’s paintings and gardens have been featured on the Australian garden television series Garden Gurus.
Paula’s paintings frequently feature New Zealand coastal landscapes. Paula lives on an island there is water all around her, she loves the space between land and sea…the coast. Her recent paintings feature shifting shades of blue turquoise and green. “I’m into tranquility in my work at the moment.”
