The Emu series is about those WTF moments in life and some of the characters of the Australian Outback. Linda’s early study was with photography, drawing and painting. Inspired by the beauty and uniqueness of the Australian landscape she decided to become a landscape artist and developed a distinctive style, which uses vivid colour and detail.
“I feel an affinity for the immediacy of watercolour and love the way it flows and mixes on the paper to produce some amazing effects. More recently I have been working in acrylic. I love the strong rich colours and the ability to work on large scale canvasses. This enables me to truly capture the scale and intensity of the Australian landscape while having all the spontaneity and joy of a water based medium.” – Linda MacAulay
After living in Perth for 10 years and traveling extensively around Australia, Linda now calls Melbourne home where she has continues to paint, exhibit and teach. She is recognised as one of Australias foremost watercolour artists.
Linda is an active member of the local arts community in the Shire of Nillumbik.
