Kim MacKenzie completed a Bachelor of Business with Honors (1) in 2007, and a PhD in Electronic Business in 2011. She works as a sessional academic at a Brisbane-based university, and an academic advisor in the fields of global business, the digital economy, and enterprising society. Kim draws on this knowledge to inform the production of her community radio programs on RiSE.
Kim MacKenzie has used pastels on paper for over 22 years to create a large body of highly original semi-abstract artwork designs. She has sold over 130 framed original artworks marketed through Victorian and Queensland gallery, public and commercial venues, and has licensed and commercialised a range of images for retail applications. Kim continues to create highly original semi abstract images to inspire deep reflection and understanding of complex phenomena.
Kim MacKenzie has only recently explored abstract digital photography and has developed a unique style of visual image, with several images having already been published on covers of Australian edition text books. A broad range of these inspirational and unique images (accompanied by words) are now available for a variety of commercial applications.
Kim published her first novel in 2008 titled ‘Bluey and the Rainbow band’. An inspirational Australian animal adventure tale, written to uplift readers of all ages, the concept was originally inspired by a chance finding of an Aboriginal stone tool in the remote sand dunes of the Central Coast of Queensland over 30 years ago. Accordingly, the central theme of the book attributes a mysterious power to a rainbow stone that guides the destiny of all the characters and their respective rainbow adventures.
BROADCASTER Community Radio
Kim undertook community radio panel training with Community Radio Station 4EB in Brisbane in 2016 and is now a EBAQ-licenced panel operator. She gained presenter and production experience contributing to 4EB’s Women’s Profile program throughout 2016, and launched her own digital radio program ‘RiSE – New cultures of market practice’ in April 2017.
