International artist Alexandra Spyratos travels the world with her art, exhibiting her paintings of African Wildlife in Italy, Australia, Africa, USA and Hong Kong. Well known for her paintings of the regal Zebra, Alexandra also recreates the Elephant, the Hippo, the elegant Impala, the Wildebeest, the flighty Ostrich and more in her glamorous gold and metallic. Working with mixed medium, Spyratos also paints with fluorescent colour, oil paint, acrylics, charcoal and pastels to recreate, in her unique style, the wildlife that surrounds her home in Kenya.
Alexandra Spyratos was born in Nairobi, Kenya. She lives and works in her studio in both Malindi, Kenya and Byron Bay Australia, painting for exhibitions worldwide.
Influenced by her colourful background, translating the heat and the exotic beauty of the African wildlife. It is this deep inspiration from the heart of Africa that has emerged in Alexandra’s painting of the wildlife and has evolved into a style that straddles all genre and is uniquely her own.
Her medium sees a diverse direction evolving into the elegance and glamour of gold, silver and copper leaf combines with the fluorescence. The combination is dynamic and adds a fresh and energetic dimension to her art, aptly termed as “Bohemian Chic”.
Alexandra Spyratos’s career as a professional artist spans thirty years with thirty six solo shows behind her including Miami, New York, Spain, Sydney, Melbourne, Milan, Hong Kong and Uganda.
Alexandra is also a prolific muralist creating murals worldwide. Recently she was involved in volunteer work with C.I.S.P painting murals with school children in Kenya and education with art.
Through her art she supportds various charities including African Rainforest Conservancy (NY), C.I.S.P, Africa Leaf and the Byron Bay Breast Cancer support Group.
