Still Life Painting Workshop in Northern California

Beginning August 4th, 2016 Ongoing Every Thursday, 10am - 4pm Still Life Painting painting This class focus is on teaching drawing and painting fundamentals, strong building blocks, using comparative and sight size measure, and painting techniques that I use to create my still life paintings. Inspired by the DutchFlemish tradition that flourished in the 14th to 17th century, you will learn essential theories for composing a still life piece such as composition, understanding values and color theory, hue, and chroma. Working in paint layers we will cover grisaille (under-paintings) and the technique of glazing and scumbling to create realistic and beautifully refined paintings. Learn how to paint reflective objects, feathers and fur.
Enjoy working in an organized professional studio environment with large North light windows where you can pick up extra tips and tricks, meet other artists and relax in a friendly atmosphere. Please don't feel intimidated as all levels are welcomed from beginners to advance. There is no egos and I strive to work for the individual students need.
