We discovered this amazing view on a trip to North Queensland. 1770 is at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef and the site where Captain Cook came to repair his ship Endeavour after hitting the reef. There is a memorial plaque at the top of the hill. The site’s natural beauty is breathtaking and my husband and son walked all the way out to the pandannus tree out at the very point on the left hand side of the painting and stood in the shade of the tree.
