Ink Airbrushed on MDF Board
The cheetah is an exceptional big cat. They are graceful, swift, elegant. “Cheetah” means “spotted one” in Indian. The black tears around their eyes are striking and likened to the stripes painted on the faces of American footballers, it is used to stop the glare so they can see for longer distances when looking for their prey. Their markings are striking, and I wanted show the intenseness of their gaze. During the Saharan desert days, cheetahs lie around, waiting for the coolness of the of the evening to arrive, always conserving their energy, so they can sprint when necessary. They are more and more endangered, so I felt compelled to paint this magnificent creature, hoping to raise awareness of their plight.
