Richard Bell releases new album
You might have read the name ‘Richard Bell’ as the end credits roll for Colour in Your Life ..
…in fact, Richard has been contributing anything up to four pastoral solo guitar and piano pieces per show since the series began .. Regular viewers are subliminally familiar with pieces like ‘Carnival’, ‘Latin’, ‘Mercredi’ and ‘Seaweed’.
Richard is a musician and producer living in the hills near Uki in northern New South Wales, always in search of the spacious in his music creations.
He releases albums under the name Shunya (meaning ‘the end of the out-breath’ in Sanskrit) and spent the first three months of 2020 writing and recording a new project, ‘Presence Begins’.
It’s another thoughtful and relaxing collection of songs and atmospheres, sometimes following a devotional thread, sometimes more conventional pop, with guests including his son Fraser Bell on drums, synth and electric guitar and Elias Harmony, Tanya Wester and Swaha Devi on additional vocals.
