IMAGINE

IMAGINE : Capture your Creativity and Thrive is the first in our series of Colour in Your Life Ezines full of information from a variety of contributors to inspire and improve your art practice. The magazine is available free to our premium members.
Creating a successful Art Practice is a very broad topic. Many could define this by identifying the physical components to an arts practice such as lines, values, tones and the rest. Others will look at the topic from a more esoteric point of view- interpreting feelings, art therapy, connections with others or with a greater force. And yet another point of view is considering your art as business and thinking of foundations to building an arts practice as business techniques. 8 pages

Creating a successful Art Practice is a very broad topic. Many could define this by identifying the physical components of an art practice such as lines, values, tones and the rest. Others will look at the topic from a more esoteric point of view- interpreting feelings, art therapy, connections with others or with a greater force. And yet another point of view is considering your art as a business and thinking of foundations to building an art practice as business techniques.
In this ezine, I have considered all of the above perspectives and mainly focussed on, those that could cross through all perspectives. The ideas I have presented are a way for you to follow your passion to, express yourself and ideally earn money enough to sustain yourself, if that is what you desire.
I have considered many different options but I have selected the top five that stand out to keep it short and simple. Know yourself, make records, play, create a studio and think creatively.
In the lead- up to writing this ezine I asked several of the Colour in Your Life featured artists what they considered to be the foundations of their art practice. I have included their insightful responses at the end of this magazine.
Contributions from Louise Corke, Nicholas Broughton, Richard Stergulz, Tricia Reust, Jennifer Fletcher and Carolyn Edlund from Artsy Shark.
