Colour In Your Life DVD Set 35 – Acrylic
Sue Dent has painted professionally for the past 14 years exhibiting widely in various joint and solo exhibition.
During this time Sue has worked in a variety of media predominately water colour for which she found her floral works in much demand. A desire to experiment has led to the development of recent works exploring texture and form. A shift from her delicate works on paper reveals a new strength through acrylic media and canvas and more recently the exploration of glass paints on canvas which provides amazing colours and texture.
As a young woman, Doreen McNeill was a technical draftswomen, drawing navigational charts for aircraft. The work was meticulous and intricate. In the early 1960’s she began painting while living in the Bahamas. Since moving to New Zealand in 1987, Doreen has perfected her contemporary abstract techniques. Doreen uses abstractions, grids and directions which are derived from her many years of hand drawing navigational charts for aircraft – before computers were in common use and aircraft were guided only by radio signals shown on distorted roller charts in the cockpit.
Patricia has always been attracted to the organic blend and flow of colours in watercolour, especially in the wet-on-wet technique. Patricia is taking that love of subtle blending of colour and organic shapes to creating large contemporary abstracts that are big, bold, beautiful, and brimming with vibrant colour!.
