Plein Air Acrylic Painting Techniques with Shirley Peters – Part 3

Shirley has had a life of commercial illustration, graphic design, computer graphics, children’s books, and fine art. After majoring in pottery at school, she studied fine art for three years at the National Art School in Sydney.
Shirley has done part-time printmaking at Julian Ashton Art School, two years painting at Sydney Gallery School and studied privately with traditional artists.
As an illustrator, she was taught traditional watercolour for advertising.
In this, Part 3 and the conclusion of her 3-part series en plein air techniques in acrylics, Shirley demonstrates painting the details of her Australian bush scene, including texture, lumps and bumps on the trees to bring vibrant expressive realism!
