Lorraine Rogers was born in Melbourne in 1953. Her career in painting began in 1974. She is largely self-taught and has developed a unique and recognisable style. She had already dabbled in oils, with Sherbrooke Art Society in Victoria and studied drawing and painting under Robert Hammond who helped her to explore her creativity. John Lovett taught her to explore the potential in watercolour and mixed media with whom she spent many years developing her design, colour and compositional skills.

Her art continues to evolve with detail, colour and diversity. In the new millennium, the art world is much less concerned about the purity of the medium. What counts is results, feel free to combine a little pastel with water colour or whatever it takes to convey the mood or to capture the moment.

Mealie will show Graeme her creative processes as she creates her diverse pieces. Amelia has opened her own gallery in Murwillumbah, where many of her sculptures and paintings hang.

Mealie's Testimonial after the show:

'I have been a practicing visual artist for over 25 years, working as a professional graphic designer in the first half of my career plus many involving myself in the Brisbane and Melbourne art scene before moving to my little slice of heaven in the Northern Rivers Region of NSW. This is where I have set myself up with a small Gallery/Art House in the beautiful town of Murwillumbah where I discovered that Graeme Stevenson, a world renowned artist lived only a few streets away. When I saw a Local Newspaper article promoting his ‘Colour in Your Life’ TV series, I knew right then and there that this would be an amazing way to showcase and promote my artwork.

Filming with Graeme and his wonderfully talented team has been an amazing experience for my confidence and skills as a professional artist. Not only has the ‘Colour in your Life’’ TV show opened a doorway to getting my art shown to a Nationwide audience, the CIYL Website has helped me network and share opportunities to grow my arts business much quicker than I could have imagined. It has definitely been an investment for my future as an artist with ongoing opportunities and exposure for myself and my gallery.

It is so great to be able to watch the talent and exceptional skills of the artists we have in this country and the Colour in your Life Team certainly portray our creative artisans in a professional, informative and interesting way with a touch of fun. I would recommend any established or emerging artist to experience this unique opportunity.'
